From Santa Clarita, California, Tyler began formal ballet training at the age of 16 and immediately fell in love. He attended the University of Utah as a Ballet major, where he performed with Utah Ballet as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel; in Bow Out and She’s So Fine, choreographed by Val Caniparoli and staged by Maggie Wright-Tesch; and in Jay Kim’s Cinderella. After spending a summer with Texas Ballet Theater, Tyler was accepted into the Professional Division for the 2016-2017 season, where he performed in Ben Stevenson’s Alice in Wonderland, Peter and the Wolf, and The Nutcracker. Tyler has enjoyed summer intensives on partial or full scholarship at Ballet West, Texas Ballet Theater, and Oklahoma City Ballet. He also performed the roles of Nutcracker Prince and Cavalier in The Nutcracker as a principal guest artist for Northern Plains Dance. Tyler looks forward to his first season dancing with Minnesota Ballet, and would not be able to do what he loves every single day if it weren’t for the continuous support of his mom and dad.
